Harvey Cedars is a coastal borough in Ocean County, NJ. As of the 2020 census, its population was approximately 391 people. It was incorporated as a borough in 1894 by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. The original name of the borough was High Point, but in order to differentiate it from a northern New Jersey community named High Point, the name was changed in the 1930s. The name Harvey Cedars may be derived from the Harvest Quarters for the homes of the farmers who harvested there, and for the cedar trees that grew in the area. Harvey Cedars is bordered by the Ocean County municipalities of Barnegat, Long Beach and Stafford.
